There’s always someone worse off than you 🙏🏾

The kid that replaced me and took my position for the next game after I got injured. 🏈

A week after I got injured a guy at one of my ice hockey teams 🏒 was tripped into the boards and broke his leg in 3 places 🥴

Sport at any level can but fun but sports which are a little more serious, or where the levels are higher is brutal at times and not just on the actual injury front!

Within a week of my injury being confirmed I was replaced by two new players playing in my position.

Thats just how it goes, sometimes you won’t even hear from the manager or coaches unless they’re checking what specific date you’re going to be available to them again. I’ve had that in different sports I’ve played over the years but the most challenging thing is always overcoming the injury itself and staying mentally in a good place.

This week I’ve been f#cked 🥴

Step was tough for me I’m still not recovered even 50% which is pretty unusual for me 😭 8 or 9 weeks later. But despite the pain, despite the space I could have to start feeling sorry for myself it’s important for you and for me to be reminded that there is always someone worse off!

Whilst I’m desperate to get back to flying again today I see this message… the guy drafted in to replace me played literally 60 seconds of play before this, his season (hopefully just this one) finished just like that. A boot and some hobbling for 9 weeks maybe 12 who knows but a much better scenario for me than this kid in his 20’s!

Never forget no matter how hard your situation is…

There’s always someone worse off. Count your blessings and move forward as positively as possible!

And for that reason we’ll be doing step again this is week! 😂🎉Let’s Go
