Interesting read 👀👓📚 ‘why I never win those competitions!?’

If you have instagram or even Facebook, you’ll have often seen posts like this one above ⬆️ When the weather gets nice in your country you’ll likely see lots of these with the title ‘fitness giveaway‘ or ‘bootcamp transformation’. Now… hopefully I don’t have to tell you that if you wait every summer for a trainer that does a so called ‘Bootcamp’ in the park to decide to get into shape via a competition giveaway… well you don’t have to do it more than one year to realise it’s probably what you consistently do that’s actually going to make a difference, not to mention that if you’re in the UK you’ve got about 0.34 weekends of guaranteed summer to play with 😂. Huge brands a corporations use these competitions just like small individuals and brands… to grow their following. They can launch a competition offering something that’s a no brainer of a prize and most people (normally those that wouldn’t usually pay for the product) will happily use their social media to promote them in exchange for a chance to win… but do you ever win or know the winner? Here’s why…

Instagram requires those doing it properly to list their terms and conditions in the comments somewhere below and to state that it is not associated in any way with instagram… because well… a lot of the time there is no winner, it’s fixed or just a scam 😂 instagram allows this as long as you’ve disassociated yourself with instagram 😂

Secondly what huge and small business have in common is that they need reach and so what they are actually looking for is people of influence to promote their name. If I were running a scam of a competition for core attack for example, how would I choose a winner??

well the person with the most followers possibly … the person with the most comments on their feed that demonstrate their ability to influence people possibly too… but I wouldn't choose someone if they weren't very active on social media ie only posting 2milion photos on a night out but nothing ever any other time 😂, if a large percentage of their following already follow core attack accounts, or if the first people to like most of their posts are core attack members… this indicates they’re not so influencial in their own way but have gained influence through the brand which won’t help grow the name any further… the final thing I would not go for… someone with a private account ⛔️ And here is where the penny drops…

most of us value our privacy and come to social media spaces to share with those we know , although over time this has somehow become a little lost and we’re less sensitive to having people we don’t actually know or met once view our space (that’s for another post 😂). So the average person has a private account which you have to add to gain access, that’s normal!

However the real point of instagram (from instagrams point of view) is to have an open space that anyone can view and this is where hashtags and captions come in (runs to delete hashtags 😳)

Hashtags and anything else that you post which tags a brand or anyone that doesn’t follow you will never be seen by anyone other than those in your private space (however instagram decides to dictate that happens) so when for example a huge company says ’make sure you’re following us’ they’re showing you that they recognise you bring 0 value with a closed private account and instead they will want your follow also as criteria to enter. They also (the brand) won’t ever see that you reposted it!!!! This is why you never win! But meanwhile the 100 people on your account may have just purchased or added the company based on your post so for brands it’s kind of job done ✅

Where this is done differntly

in general is with companies you mutually follow, charities and other business you already have a relationship with, you may recall us giving away some podcast related prizes... ask the genuine winners 🥰

So now you have to decide… do I want to show my photos to a bunch of strangers or should I keep this to myself and laugh at my mates who post every competition going or 100 hashtags under their posts when their account is private 😩😅. Next time you ‘enter’ a comp scroll down (they will hide it) and check the small print 🤫despite all the ‘save the nhs’ ‘we stand with etc’ stuff they post, small and big business exists to… make money! So no matter how they hook you emotionally remember (unless you have 5-10k followers and an public account) to only support those you want to see grow or that provide something that supports you in someway🥰 then everybody wins! 👏🏾

repost this to be in with the chance of winning £1😹💚
